Never Too Young to Start Chiropractic Care

By May 15, 2017No Comments

I love Moms, kids, families – and dogs (not relevant to my story, just sayin’ dogs rock…)! As a chiropractor and holistic wellness expert, my goal is to help people function at their highest levels. Every time I give chiropractic care to a person ‘of a certain age’ who tells me they’ve been experiencing asthma, allergies, headaches, fibromyalgia, neck and back pain or fatigue for most of their life, I can’t help thinking; What if they had had chiropractic care when they were little? How different would their health be now?

Research says, a lot different! It just stands to reason: If our brain is blocked in any way from directing the various parts of the body to do their job, then we are not fully healthy. Think of young developing brains and bodies, and you can perhaps see why I’m so excited about working with families to give kids the foundation to live at 100% bandwidth!

My patient, Izela Michel is in her 20’s and has had asthma for most of her life, regularly using an inhaler and at times struggling for breath, not allowing her cells to get the oxygen they need to function well. Take a look at this video to learn about her experience with chiropractic care:

Young people who are adjusted are healthier, sleep better, think better, and miss less school days. This foundation translates into adults who are healthier, sleep better, have more energy, think more clearly, and miss fewer work days. Senior citizens who are adjusted have increased energy and vitality, and report a better quality of life. See a thread here?

It’s the cycle of life, writ large in great chiropractic care! In my practice, it starts with nerve flow and expands beyond, as Izela said, to healthful habits in eating, exercise, positive attitude, all of which help the body heal itself – because it can. As a chiropractor (and a parent) I want nothing to be blocking our young people from being connected to their life’s passion and purpose!

So in this Mother’s Day month and with school, sports, and activities winding up another school year, I encourage you to take some time to think about your family and their wellness. What steps can you take to lay a foundation for them that will serve them all their lives? Of course I’m going to echo Izela — “Do chiropractic health!” But my sincere message to you is to explore the possibilities out there so you can build a natural form of healthcare, and a team, that will support you and your loved ones best.
